Q: Do you sell and ship internationally?
A: No, we ship only to Canada. We will contact you with the shipping costs once your order is placed, provided you give us your full email address.
Q: What form(s) of payment do you accept?
A: You may pay for your order, once shipping costs are ascertained, with check or money order sent to us in advance of shipping or at the time you receive your products, your choice.
Q: Do you take Credit Card orders?
A: No, not at this time. We will add payment by PayPal in the future.
Q: How long does it take for my order to arrive?
A: In-stock orders will be shipped within two business days of receiving your check or money order. If you are special ordering an item, shipping from Israel takes approximately two weeks to us in Canada. Shipping from the shop to your destination will depend on Canada Post’s discretion! However, we use Canada Post’s Venture program for small businesses so that your package will be sent expedited, obtaining for you their fastest service possible for the most reasonable cost. When we know what your order is and the address to which you wish it shipped, if you wish, we can give you an estimate of the time of delivery.
Q: What are your shipping and handling rates?
A: We are located in a rural area so shipping rates are a bit higher than you may be used to. Further, Canada Post recently raised their rates considerably. After extensive research, we have discovered that for most parcels, the basic rate is $13 for the first pound of weight; each additional pound is approximately $1 more. Distance and size of parcel have some effect but in the end, very little. However, Canada Post has not updated its automatic shipping calculator yet to reflect this change. Therefore, we have temporarily added a $5 shipping and handling charge to correct the charge which will be shown in your invoice. When Canada Post updates its calculator, we will remove this charge.
Q: How do you arrive at your prices?
A: Our prices are based first of all on the wholesale (or not) price charged by the supplier. The second layer of uncertainty is the exchange rate. Prices in Israel are stated first of all in shekels. The US Dollar is the only accepted international currency for payment, so there is one level of constant change in the exchange rate of the shekel to US dollar. The next step is the simultaneously changing rate of exchange between the US and Canadian dollars (of course all our prices are in CAD). An added uncertainty is shipping, handling and Canadian Postal and Customs fees and charges. These all must be averaged over the contents of any specific shipment and vary widely. Finally, we add an approximate 20% markup to cover all our costs – website maintenance, shop maintenance, our time and costs to package, ship and talk to you plus costs of restocking! We do not charge any sales tax as Canada Revenue does not require that of any business that grosses below $30,000 in any fiscal year.
